Are DIY Kitchens Easy to fit?
Our DIY kitchens are simple to fit for a semi competent DIY-er, each unit is delivered fully built and ready to install. Please follow this link to our Fitting guide.
Why are the end panels Deeper than 600?
Our end Panels are supplied deeper to allow you to cut the panel to follow the profile of the wall (scribe) to ensure there are no gaps.
Why is there no appliance unit, only a door?
Undercounter appliances such as a dishwasher or washing machine simply slot in to a gap left between the adjacent units. The appliance door can then be fitted to your integrated appliance. (The appliance does need to be an integrated model to allow the door to be fitted, non integrated appliances are too deep to have a door in front. We recommend an end panel to be fitted to the inside of each of the adjacent unit so not to leave a gap between the sides of the appliance.
Do you supply fixings for my walls?
We don’t supply the fixings for your wall as there are lots of different types of wall which all require a different type of fixing. Please research your wall type and ensure you use the correct method and number of fixings required.
What material are you kitchens made from?
The majority of our DIY kitchens are made from furniture grade Redwood pine. We use a high density MDF beaded board for beaded end panels
Can I use any paint to finish the units?
You can use any paint but we recommend The Little Greene Paint companies Intelligent Eggshell, this give a great durable finish that can easily be touched up without showing up as overpaint. We recommend priming the units with a good wood primer such as Zinsser BIN. You should rub down with a fine grade paper between priming and each coat.
Can I install over Underfloor heating?
We wouldn't advise installing over underfloor heating as this can cause the units to move.
What type of worktops can I use?
You can fit any type of worktop, we can supply solid oak but any other type of worktop would also be fine.
What are you lead-times?
Our lead-times are between 8 and 10 weeks, this can of course vary depending upon the size of your kitchen and your location and the level of finish.
Can I fit any knobs or handles?
You can indeed fit any knobs or handles, our doors and drawer fronts are 25mm thick so you will need long enough screws to pass through or countersink the screw in enough.
Do the pine units come Pre-Oiled?
When ordered raw the units are completely untreated inside and out allowing you to finish them as you please.
