Oak wood will mature and darken gradually while gaining character and patina over time. The natural integrity of this solid hardwood ensures strength and durability, however regular maintenance will help to keep your oak worktops looking beautiful for many years. Solid oak is a durable material with plenty of charm and will feature staves that naturally vary in colour, this is completely expected and is not a flaw.

Installation & Finishing
Oak worktops can be cut from the selection of sheet sizes that we provide, we offer a range of sizes so you can make efficient use of the material that will accommodate you best for your project. Oak material can be purchased untreated or oiled. Wood oil is a natural solution for protecting and enhancing the appearance of wood in one easily applied layer.

When installing oak worktops, ensure to include a small 5mm expansion gap between the worktop and wall, this is recommended to allow for movement in the wood. Finish off with our 22mm Oak Upstand for an elegant and seamless look.

The oil treatment that we use if opted for, includes natural ingredients which generate a molecular reaction with the exposed cellulose fibres of the wood, this ensures a consistent finish on your worktop. The surface will be touch dry within minutes, moisture resistant within 48 hours and will be fully cured within 6 days of application. Please avoid wet cleaning during the curing period. You can also decide to order the worktop untreated and finish it yourself with your choice of product.
