A beautifully bespoke and elegant kitchen.

The Warrens kitchen is a well-considered design, tailored to enhance and compliment the large extension in their Cambridgeshire village home. With walls previously removed, the room has an interesting shape which required bespoke units and an impressive peninsula in order to make the most of the space. These unique details are what gives this kitchen so much character, flair and beauty; it is a joy to be in.

The soft neutral Shaker cabinetry is painted in French Grey and makes the homely kitchen feel relaxed and elegant. Meanwhile, the contrasting peninsula in Basalt creates a central focal point and a hub for cooking, with the Neff induction hob and ceiling extractor hood above. The large pan drawers below the hob provide ample storage just where it is needed and the overhang on the opposite side provides the perfect place to perch with stool seating. The peninsula functions as the main preparation space, the beautiful and durable Carrara quartz worktops are practical and contribute to the lush look of this kitchen.

Every inch of this space has been utilised. The compact corner under the window is where you’ll find the ceramic butler sink with a stunning brass tap. The burnished brass cabinetry handles bring a touch of warmth to the design and add to the quality feel. An integrated dishwasher and washing machine can also be found to the left of the sink. The tall units on the back wall comprise of our everyday Butler’s Pantry for dry food storage, a stack of Neff ovens with the nifty Slide & Hide feature, and an integrated fridge freezer. Bespoke, reduced depth cabinets in the corner are the perfect solution to making sure a small and awkward space isn’t abandoned.

The Warrens chose to have a large glazed countertop display cabinet to show off their pretty glassware collection and delicate dinnerware sets. It is a real feature within the space and adds character and interest. Having this unit just past the main kitchen area helps to create a flow within the open plan space and to incorporate this side of the room with the dining area.

The finishing touch to this kitchen is the installation of lighting under the wall cabinets to illuminate the countertops, creating a welcoming atmosphere that becomes cosy when the lights are low. Lighting installed in the glazed cabinet provides a soft glow and further highlights the decorative unit. And for a more practical measure, sensored lighting can be found inside the Butler’s Pantry, making searching for ingredients so much easier, especially in the slightly darker corner of the kitchen.
