A light, bright and welcoming family oriented kitchen.

The Bemment kitchen is a homely, family oriented kitchen, designed for a new build home set in a rural Cambridgeshire village with views across the fields. The use of natural materials and a balance of contemporary and traditional elements, this kitchen has a clean yet rustic country cottage feel that is perfect for a modern home in The Fens. The design is focused around being beautiful yet practical with plenty of storage to accommodate everyday family life.
Feeling light, bright and welcoming, the timeless Shaker cabinetry is painted in White Lead, a fresh creamy colour. The knobs and cup handles are in a brushed chrome finish for a clean and modern appearance, while the matching butt hinges influence a traditional approach to the design. The gorgeous natural Umbrian Limestone flooring introduces a rustic aesthetic to the space, and the solid oak worktops bring a sense of warmth and contribute to that softer cottage feel.
With the range cooker set back into the false chimney breast, the central island functions as the main preparation space. Large pan drawer sets can be found conveniently either side of the chimney for storing all the essential cookware, while a wide double drawerline cupboard and additional pan drawers can be found on either side of the island. At the end of the island, the stool seating under the overhang takes advantage of the generous size and incorporates a social aspect to the open plan kitchen diner. The dark grey quartz worktop has a honed finishwith a low sheen and tactile surface that provides a more natural and organic aesthetic  The contrasting island worktop creates a central focal point within the kitchen space and breaks up the soft light tone of the White Lead cabinetry, while it also ties-in with the black appliances on either side of the kitchen to create a coordinating design.
There is a great balance of worktop space and storage in this kitchen. The Butler’s Pantry cupboard and countertop larder provide ample space for storing dry foods and essential ingredients, full cupboards are always essential in a busy family home! While the pantry cupboards will be home to plenty of snacks for the kids, the bespoke wine rack above the fridge is an ideal spot to stash away the treats just for the grownups. With the large ceramic butler sink in prime position under the window, you can find the integrated dishwasher to the right with a handy integrated bin cabinet on the left. While there is plenty of hidden storage, the open shelf unit on the end of the run is a nice opportunity to show off personal objects and showcase family life. Bringing this unit out further than the rest of the kitchen is a great way to create flow within the open plan space and to incorporate the dining table at the other end of the room.
